As we power thru August and into September the temperatures begin to drop as well up here in the Sierras. This is a much welcome change for us and our wet finned friends. This summer has been a hot one! Water temperatures are dropping drastically throughout the evening with air temps in the mid to high 30’s already. And with the great number of hoppers fluttering about and the abundant stone fly hatches we are still having some fish look up to eat the big dry fly. I love this time of year! The crowds are starting to thin out with all the kids going back to school and the fish are becoming a bit more active. So as we slide into fall don’t let the cool air get you down. Get excited for happy fish and throwing flies. After all, you can’t catch em from the couch.
