It’s been a hot one up here in the Sierras this season. But the fishing is still pretty good if your willing to get up early. With the non stop heat we have seen our water temperatures climb as well. So instead of getting out in the heat of the afternoon we are targeting our finned friends in the early mornings. Still the majority of the same bugs as stoneflies, caddis, pmd’s and midges. Fish are still holding in the fast bubbles and pocket water because that is going to be the coolest most oxygenated water. In the afternoon the water temps are climbing and we need to give the fish a rest and hang up the rods for the day. Once those water temps hit 68 the fish have a really hard time recovering from us pestering them. So get out early and treat em nice!
