Is it spring already in the Sierras? It sure feels that way in the afternoon. And boy are the fish fired up about it! Cold mornings allow us to sleep in and avoid that cold brisk frost. For some of us it allows us to score some points at home with the other half and get some chores down and run some errands before heading out. There is no hurry to jam out the door at first light, to get first tracks. We aren’t heading to the slopes this morning. It’s winter fishing. The crowds are thin and the fish still have to eat. We are still looking for the slower holding water. Small bugs still on the lunch menu. If your bored of tossing the small bugs around put on a streamer or small bugger. Because you never know what you may turn. After all, it sure feels like spring.
